Domaine Rieflé - Alsace Grand Cru Steinert Pinot Gris 2016
Score : 89 pointsBright straw. Slightly subdued nose of apple, pear and sweet spices. Then rich, round and warm, displaying an almost peppery nuance to the ripe pomaceous fruit flavors. Nicely tactile wine that finishes long. Offers early appeal but is a little simple currently. From vines that grow on mostly marly-clay soils. Lots of juicy cut and freshness and not at all over the top or flabby as some entry-level Pinot Gris wines tend to be in Alsace (12.5% alcohol, 4.8 g/L residual sugar and 5 g/L total acidity). The back label reads 1 on the sweetness scale of 1 to 4).
